Project 2.4 - Creative Curriculum
Project 2.4 – ‘Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.’ Philippians 2:4
We are excited to be launching a new creative curriculum for our school called Project 2.4. The children will be completing a range of activities on selected Wednesday afternoons. Each class teacher will lead an activity and the children will complete 5 activities over a 10-week period.
The activities are all linked to the natural world and ‘The Lost Words book.’ In 2007, when a new edition of the Oxford Junior Dictionary -- widely used in schools around the world -- was published, a sharp-eyed reader soon noticed that around forty common words concerning nature had been dropped. ‘The Lost Words’ by Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris was created in response to this, as a way of raising awareness of the importance of keeping these words in our language, and of the importance of understanding and appreciating our natural environment.
